Floyd Cook Passes Away August 25
Kenneth Floyd Cook, the youngest son of D. E. and Viola Cook, was born the 11th of November 1902 at the family home, three miles west of Imperial. He passed away August 25th, 1971 at the age of 68 years, nine months, and 14 days. He lived most of his life in Chase County. On May 20th, 1934 he was married to Leota Agnes Yost at Trenton. To this union one daughter was born.
Floyd confessed his faith in the Heavenly Father in May 1937 and was baptized on the 28th of June the same year. He continued to keep his faith.
Floyd was employed by the Nebraska State Highway Department for many years, and at the beginning of his illness was employed by the Chase County Department of Roads. He built and maintained many of the roads in Chase County.
He was preceeded (sic) in death by his father and mother and is survived by his wife, Leota; daughter, Marlene; son-in-law, Bill Mills; four grandchildren of Ford, Washington; three brothers; Casper of Renton, Washington; frank and Orrant of Imperial; and one sister Ruby Baker of Kit Carson, Colo. Also, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. (sic)
Floyd was a kind and loving husband and father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at the United Methodist Church in Imperial with Rev. Charles Schofield officiating.
Music was provided by Mrs. Cal German, Mrs. Glen Harless, Mrs. Leo Lines and Mrs. Aaron Smith accompanied by Mrs. Charles Schofield.
Escorts were Arvin Kurth, Perry Bladwin, Lloyd Kimble, Bud Wyman, Larry Tinkham, and Joe Adden
Interment was at Mr. Hope Cemetery. Creveling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
