Hazel Arlene Wierson was born May 6, 1924 to Eamel Wierson (Oct. 25,1900 Hardin County, Iowa - Jan. 1, 1970 Des Moines, Iowa Memorial# 84287286) and Gertie Adell (Amundson) Wierson (Jan. 23, 1904 - Sep. 16, 1969 Memorial# 84287066) in Hardin County, Rural Route, Radcliffe, Iowa. Hazel attended rural country school and graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1942. Hazel was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On Dec. 16, 1942, Hazel was united in marriage to Martin Frank Lettow of Buckeye,Iowa. To this union, three children were born Martin died on Jan. 24. 1952 . On August 12, 1963 Hazel was United in marriage to Clifford Mayo Skeie. Clifford died on Dec. 5, 1986.

Hazel's life was spent as a homemaker, office worker and in retail sales. She was a life member of the Sons of Norway, where she was Social Director for several years. The love of her life was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and relatives and friends.

Hazel passed away from cancer on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at Israel Family Hospice iHouse in Ames, Iowa at the age of 81 years.

Hazel was survived by her sister, Evelyn Gene Wierson Iverson.

She was preceded by her parents, two husbands, infant son, Martin Frank Lettow, Jr.and her brother-in-law, Wallace Oliver Iverson.

Funeral services for Hazel Skeie, 81, of Story City were held on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 10:30 a.m. At Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, Iowa with Rev. Dan Hart officiating. Vocalists will be Jason McCosky, and Alvern Elwood. Casketbears were Jason Lettow, Kurt Carlson, Marty Johnson, David Iverson, Corey Johnson, and Steven Lettow. Honorary casket bearers were Jami Lettow, Stacia Carlson, and Brenda Johnson Interment is in the Radcliffe Cemetery. Boeke Funeral Home of Radcliffe was in charge of arrangements.

Hazel's granddaughter, Stacia Jean Johnson Carlson has since passed away (Aug. 7, 1967 - Dec. 26, 2006 Memorial# 128436868).
