Dorothy Jane Bigby, age 66, of Carrollton, MO passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at her home. Dorothy was born March 16, 1945 to Herbert and Anna Belle ( Lyles) Carter in Carrollton, MO.
After graduating from Carrollton High School in 1964, she was employed as a nurse's assistant Wetzel Clinic until Dr. Wetzel passed away. Following that, she worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia, MO.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa L. Bigby of Kansas City, MO; one son, Richard H. Bigby and wife, Candy of Carrollton, MO; three brothers, Donald Bigby and wife, Marvina of Chillicothe, MO, Rowdie Bigby and wife, Terry, of Marshall, MO, and Randy Bigby, from the State of Florida; two sisters, Isabelle Arrington of Kansas City, MO, and Marjorie Bigby of Carrollton, MO; four grandchildren, Kelvin Banks, Jr., Derrick Banks, Bradley Markell, Jaclyn Bigby and a very special friend, Winnie Agee of Keytesville, MO.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Herbert Carter, Jr., Charles Lester, Roy Lee Bigby and two sisters, Thelma Wayland and Betty Bigby.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 N. 65 Hwy., Carrollton, MO with Reverend Jimmy White officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Bittiker Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carrollton, MO.
