Died 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 1995, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 76, a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired city-parish truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle Funeral Home, 1553 Wooddale Blvd. at Tom Drive, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 8 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by three daughters, Carolyn M. Blade, Baker, Alice E. Blade, Greenwell Springs, and Nona B. Decou, Clearwater, Fla.; a son, Charles A. Blade, Denham Springs; a stepson, Lucien Melvin Alexander; a brother, Allen Blades, Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Anderson and Ada Blade; five brothers; and three sisters.
