Olney, Ill. — Martha Adeline Winchester, 84, of Odessa, Texas, formerly of Clay City, died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.

Mrs. Winchester was born January 16, 1927, in Ponca City, Okla., the daughter of James and Romie (McAlister) Acklin. She graduated high school and married her high school sweetheart, Bill Winchester, in 1945. He preceded her in death.

During her life she was an avid doll collector. She loved singing with her sisters and the trio would sing at churches in the area. She enjoyed fishing and was a Cub Scouts Den Mother. She lived in Odessa, Texas, for 35 years and worked as an insurance processor in the medical field.

Mrs. Winchester is survived by three sons, Danny Winchester, Jerry Winchester, and Chuck Winchester, of Brighton, Colo.; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Adam, Madison and Dale; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Romie Acklin; husband, Bill Winchester; and two sisters, Peggy Banker and Betty Jo Duff.

Visitation will be at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Harris officiating.

Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery.
