Betty Jo Duff, 81, of Clay City, died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Flora Pavilion in Flora.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Doyle
Williams officiating. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery.

Mrs. Duff was born on February 8, 1922, in Carter County, Qkla., the daughter of Joe James and Romie (McAllister) Acklin. She married John K. Duff on April 10, 1944, in Santa Barbara, Calif. He survives.

She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and a member of Clay City American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member of Clay City First Baptist Church. She
loved being with her family and painting.

Mrs. Duff is survived by her husband, John Duff, of Clay City; a son, James W. Duff, of Clay City; two daughters, Jo Ellen Starrett and her husband, Charles J., of Scottsville,
Ky., and Martha Shomaker and her husband, Ronnie, of McKenzie, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jayma Shomaker, of Huntingdon, Tenn., R.C. Shomaker, of McKenzie, Tenn., Josh Starrett, of Scottsville, Ky., and Mason Duff, of Clay City; a sister, Martha Winchester, of Odessa, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Peggy Banker, and two brothers-in-law, John Banker and Bill Winchester.

Memorials may be made to Clay County Health Department Hospice.
