Mrs. Addie Parker Ables, 100, of 505 N. Fifth Ave. died Thursday evening at a Rome health-care center.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Ables was born June 29, 1889, daughter of Thomas E. Parker and Elizabeth Duncan Parker.

Mrs. Ables was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she had been president of the Builders Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Whaley Ables, Sr., in November 1964, to whom she was married in 1908.

Survivors include: a sister, Mrs. Hollis Kendrick, Rome; a brother, Sam Parker Sr., Rome; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hanna and Dan Biggers officiating. Interment will be at East View Cemetery.
