The daughter of Henry Richard and Otha Melvina (Elam) Harrelson, she was born August 19, 1933 in Sullivan County, Missouri. On September 9, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, Bonnie was united in marriage to Thomas E. Turner who preceded her in death on December 25, 1988.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wayne and W.C. "Bill" Harrelson; one sister, Thelma Scalf and her step-mother, Fanny Harrelson.
Bonnie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddy and Vicki Turner of Kirksville, MO and Keith and Sheri Turner of Brashear, MO; one brother, Marvin Harrelson of Sedalia, MO; one sister, Marjorie Miller of Turlock, CA; step-sister, Martha Sees of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Jesse Turner of Unionville, MO, Rachel Turner of Kirksville, MO, and Rhiannon and Breann Turner both of Brashear, MO as well as several in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Bonnie was a graduate from Kirksville High School. She was employed thirty-six years as a cook at Adair County R-II School in Brashear, until retiring in 2002.
Her hobbies included gardening, flowers, quilting, embroidering and cooking. Bonnie loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of Senior Circle, RSVP, was a member of the Brashear Community Bible Church where she served on the Board and was on the Brashear Cemetery Board.
Public visitation will be held Wednesday (June 22, 2011) from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Her funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Perry officiating. Music selections "It is well with my Soul" and "In the Garden" will be provided by Chad and Kendra Stearman.
Bonnie's wish was to be cremated following her service and inurnment will be held at a later date in the Brashear Cemetery at Brashear, Missouri.
