She will Share a Double Headstone with her Husband, Richard W. Kemp.

Eudora Grisham Kemp, 94, Passed Away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville.

She was Born to Richard R. Grisham and Rosalie Cartwright Grisham on January 12, 1921, in the Blackland Community, Prentiss County, MS along with her Twin Sister, Eugenia Grisham Bennett.

She Attended Schools in Houston, Fulton, Booneville and Graduated as Valedictorian from Wheeler High School.

After Attending Athens College in Alabama, she Graduated with Honors from Murray State in Kentucky.

She Received a Master's in Education from the University of Mississippi as well as a Masters in English from Birmingham Southern; she also did Post Graduate Work at the University of Missouri.

Her Career as an Educator Spanned Many Years.
She Taught English at Rienzi High School, Baldwyn High School, Booneville High School and Northeast Mississippi Community College where she Retired as Chair of the English Department after a Twenty-Five Year Career at Northeast.

An Amateur Poet, she Published Three Books of Poetry and Compiled Many Unpublished Poems.

She Organized the Local Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota, a Teacher Sorority and Served as both National and State Presidents.

She was a Charter Member of the Pilot Club of Booneville, a Member of UDC, Booneville Women's Club, a Charter Member of the Chamber of Commerce, Member of Friends of the Library, the American Association of University Women and was Past Chair of the Mississippi of English Teachers.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Booneville with Rev. Rich Butler and Rev. W.V. Kemp Officiating.
Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

She is Survived by her Son, Mike Kemp and Wife, Harriet, of Corinth; her Daughter, Pam Rice and Husband, Steven, of Galveston, TX; her Grandchildren, Rosanne Williams; Richard Lindsey; Heather Dean; Brian Kemp; Brett Butler and Devin; and Rich Butler and Wife, Joanna; Eleven Great Grandchildren; and a Host of Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

She was Preceded in Death by her Husband of almost Fifty Years, Richard M. Kemp; her Parents; and Twin Sister, Eugenia Bennett.

Pallbearers will be Kent Geno, Bill Murphy, Terry Cartwright, Brett Butler, John Hatcher and Tommy Cadle.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Ward Sr., Phillip Cole, Ron Whitehead, Eddy Kendall, Jerry Prather, Jay W. Jennings, Joe Carter, Bobby Goddard, James Goddard and Hal Hughes.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday September 21, 2015 at McMillan Funeral Home and will Visitation will be One Hour Prior to the Service at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
