Millie Carnes Bennison, 90, Neosho, died on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following a sudden illness.

Millie was born Feb. 4, 1921 in Ritchey, MO, the daughter of Orville Raymond and Gladys (Loving) Douthitt.

She worked as an interior decorator for Montgomery Ward, J. C. Penny and Fenton Huff. Millie was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church, American Legion Ladies Auxillary and Newton County Geneology.

She married Leonard Carnes on Dec. 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1994; she married Bob Bennison on Sept. 20, 1997 and he preceded her in death in Aug. 2006.

Survivors are four daughters, Rayma Conrad, Joplin; Linda Thurman and husband, Phil, Seneca; Connie Croy and husband, Marshall, Greer, SC and Mary Ann Hurst and husband, Dale, Antelope, CA; a step son, Jim Bennison, Neosho; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Carnes, son in law, Buddy Conrad, a granddaughter and grandson.
