Robert Bennison

Robert C. 'Bob' Bennison was born May 4, 1918 in Colville, Washington, to Albert Wade Bennison and Anna G. (Cress) Bennison.
He entered into rest Monday, August 7, 2006 in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 3 days.
Bob attended Washington State University before joining the Army Air Corps (now the United States Air Force) in 1941. He obtained his pilots license prior to entering the service, and spent 20 years in the service as a pilot. During WW II, he was a hump pilot, flying over the Himalayas into India, China and Burma, making 43 missions. He was a lifetime member of the Hump Pilots' Association. After the war, he ferried all types of planes throughout the world and retired from the Air Force Strategic Air Command Headquarters in Offutt AFB, Bellview, Nebraska on June 30, 1961, as a Lt. Colonel.
After his military retirement, he and his wife, Lolla, moved to Neosho where he owned and operated the Gamble's Franchise Appliance Store from 1963-1967. He then owned and operated Bennison Appliance until his retirement in 1985.
Bob married Lolla Mae Sims March 2, 1946 in Lakewood Village, California. To this marriage one son was born, James Bennison. Lolla preceded Bob in death December 28, 1995.
Bob married Millie Carnes September 20, 1997 in Neosho, Missouri, and she survives.
