Mrs. Alma Elizabeth Hinely - GARDEN CITY - Mrs. Alma Elizabeth Hinely, 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Spanish Oaks Retreat. Mrs. Alma was born in Leefield to the late Nathaniel Green Cowart and Nellie Mae Clifton Cowart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hinely as well as three brothers and two sisters. She was the oldest member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and she enjoyed gardening. Survivors include her son, Douglas E. (Lora) Hinely, Sr. of Pooler; her daughter, JaNell (Milton) Hedgepath of Leesville, SC; sisters, Thelma Beasley of Savannah and Ruth Ellen Brown of Statesboro; grandsons, Douglas E. (Kelly) Hinely, Jr. of Newnan, Chris Hinely of Athens and Taylor Hedgepath of Irmo, SC; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hinely and Reagan Hinely, both of Newnan and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
