Lillian Laura Skilbred was born to Lars and Edith Skilbred on March 30, 1925 in Dorchester, Wisconsin. She left us on June 8, 2011 at the age of 86 years.

She spent most of her life as a traveling Christian minister, working in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, and lastly in Wisconsin.

She leaves behind six sisters, Irene Brechlin of Skokie, IL, Margaret Skilbred of Sparta, Grace Skilbred of Sparta, Hilda Skilbred of Sparta, Edna (Roland) Larson of Morton Grove, IL, Rose Blazek of Thomasville, GA; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Skilbred of Holmen.

Besides her parents, a sister, Eleanor and four brothers, Glen Dissmore, Kenneth Dissmore, Lawrence Dissmore, and George Skilbred preceded her in death.

Lillian was a gentle spirit among us, quietly serving as long as she was able.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Mr. Charles Thain and Mr. Luther Raine officiating. Burial will be Saturday at Glenwood Cemetery, Dallas, WI at 2 p.m.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
