Mr. Garner was born on Oct. 13, 1911 at Reed's Lake to Thomas Frank and Lou Anna Marks Garner. He had lived in the Reed's Lake and Wilson Valley areas all his life. He married Alva Lee Honeycutt on Oct. 12, 1934. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Little River and the Academy school board. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Knob Creek Masonic Lodge and was in charge of the Little River-Wilson Valley Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Alva Lee Garner of Wilson valley; a son, Lee "Mike" Garner of Pflugerville; a daughter, Lois Jean Cain of Little River; three sisters, Geraldine Taylor of Belton, Artie Lou Kelley and Eunice Adams.
