The youngest son of Richard Jordan* [about 1751 to 1791] and Honour [nee Beal] Jordan [about 1759 to 1801]. Rix had 2 brothers, Belson and Richard and 4 sisters; Peggy, Nancy, Patsey [Martha], Lillias. Rix served in the War of 1812 as a private under Capt. Wm. H. Richardson in the 19th Virginia Militia commanded by Col. Thos. M. Randolph. Rix was married three times; 1] Mary Partin on Dec. 18, 1813 in Henrico County and lived in Richmond for 20 years, they had 1 known son Alfred. After Mary's death he married Sarah Ann Banks [1810-May 11, 1844], daughter of Major George Washington Banks and Catherine/Kitty Boughan, on Oct. 14, 1833 in Chesterfield County. Sarah and Rix had 4 children; George Sanford [Sally Cole], Catherine Boughan [Dr. Huey Greenlea Davidson], Laura [Wm. Applewhite], and Richard Dudley(I)* [Bettie Ann Crawford*]. After Sarah's death Rix married 3] Diane Gordon Mallory [Sept. 29, 1800-Jan. 1, 1876].
Rix was a watchmaker living the later portion of his life in Hampton VA.
