Horace Thomas Smith, 69, Keytesville, died Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in his home.
Born south of Keytesville he was the son of the late Albert and Dixie Coy Smith. On March 5, 1928, he was united in marriage to Mabel Peddicord who survives at the home. To this union four children were born: Billy Gene Smith; Mrs. Betty Lou Pilcher, Shawnee Kansas; Mrs. Dixie Sue Smith, Carrollton; and Johnny Lee Smith, Columbia who surviving, are seven grandchildren, one brother, Glen Smith of Moberly and a host of relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were three sisters and two brothers and one infant grandchild. He was united with Elm Ridge Baptist Church several years ago. Mr. Smith was a retired farmer and had lived in the Keytesville vicinity all his life. He was a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services were held at the Asbury Church southeast of Keytesville at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial was in the Asbury Cemetery. Rev. Earl Thompson, pastor of the Keytesville Baptist Church, conducted the services. Garnett Funeral Home in charge of military services.
