Dixie Sue Smith, age 81, of Carrollton, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Carroll House.
Dixie was born May 24, 1933 to Horace and Mabel (Pettycord) Smith in Keytesville, MO.
On May 23, 1957, Dixie married the love of her life, James S. Smith in Independence, MO. To this union, four sons were born, Lloyd, Dennis, Dean and Doug.
Dixie was a graduate of Keytesville High School. She was a homemaker. Dixie loved to garden and was an excellent cook. Her biggest love of all was her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Dixie is survived by her children, Dennis Smith and wife, Leslie of Missouri City, TX, Doug Smith and wife, Beth of Carrollton, MO; one brother, John Smith and wife, Sandra of Fayette, MO; and five grandchildren.
Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, James; two son's, baby Lloyd and Dean; one sister, Betty and one brother, Billy.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 from
10:00-10:45 am at Bittiker Funeral Home in Carrollton, MO.
Funeral Services will follow visitation starting at 11:00 am with Reverend Jeremy Payne officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
