17 Sept. 2021 corrections made. Roten Henry Carter is his biological name.
As of October 25, 2019- I was notified who the twins biological parents are; James R. "Jim" Carter and Henrietta Kicklighter.
"Moten & Roten were very young boys when their mother got on a train with the twins in Branchville, South Carolina, maybe headed for Texas, dropped the boys off at a foster home or orphanage (the twins said they were in an orphanage) she was never heard from again. Henry also left the area never to be heard from either." The information is from Frank Kicklighter who did a lot of research. 27 Oct. 2019.

This is my original post; Roten and his brother Moten said they were twins and lived in an orphanage. I found them on the 1900 Census as wards of Floyd and Fannie Cleveland. They didn't like being used as farm labor and ran away, maybe about 14 or 15 years old and kept the name Cleveland. They told Moten's adopted son their biological name was Kapour. The spelling is not known or any other information.
He was a retired Building Contractor at his death.
Roten had one eye.
Roten's sister -in -law Edna Parker Wilson Cleveland # 42133210
