DR. GODFREY BEAUMONT NUZUM OBITUARY
Died, near Iowa Point, Oct. 10, 1888, Dr. Godfrey B. Nuzum, aged 61 years, 7 months, and 22 days.

Dr. Nuzum was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia, Feb. 18, 1927. He came to Iowa Point in the spring of 1856, where he practiced his profession successfully for a number of years.

In the spring of 1863, he entered the United States army, as Captain of Company K, in the 14th Kansas Cavalry, and continued in the service to the close of the war.

He was kind and pleasant to all his neighbors and friends, who speak of him in high terms. He will be greatly missed in the community.

He took sick on Sunday, Oct. 7th, and after a short illness of three days, he passed peacefully away.

His funeral services, which were held on Thursday, the 11th, at 11 o'clock, at his residence, were attended by a large concourse of people.

He was buried in the cemetery near Iowa Point, by the side of his wife, who died Nov. 11, 1882.

Five children, one son and four daughters, remain to mourn his loss.
