Suggested edit: FYI: According to A. Harlan in the history of the Harlan family, James was born 8,19,1692. In 1692, the 8th month was October not August. What is now the United States did not change to the Gregorian calendar until 1752 when January became the first month and August became the 8th month. Before then, the year began in the middle of March making October the 8th month, hence its name...October. December was the 10th month, hence its name. The Quakers used numbers for the months because they refused to call them by the pagan names.
