Lawrence Finley Burk, 56, Mercer RD 6, died at the Grove City Hospital at 5 a.m. Sunday following complications of a three years illness. Born in Butler County, Jan. 9, 1901, he was a son of John and Jessie Wright Burk. He was married to Alice P. Montgomery in 1923. Mr. Burk worked for several years for the Sharon Coal and Limestone Co. at No. 2 Mines and was last employed by Filer Bros. Co. Grove City. In addition to his wife, he leaves the following children: Alfred Burk, Grove City RD 2; Mrs. Sarah Bobbert, Volant RD 1; Raymond Burk, Grove City RD 2; William, Canton, O.; Mrs. Peal Mars, Warren, O.; Mrs. Dorothy Van Dyke, Volant RD 1; Burton, Violet and Lawrence, Jr. at home, 17 grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Lena Riddle, Emlenton, Pa.; Mrs. Margaret Riddle, Grove City, RD 3; Mrs. Anna Montgomery, Grove City; Mrs. Mary Book, Slippery Rock RD; Mrs. Nellie Wimer, Mrs. Della Gibson, Grove City; brothers Cecil Burk, Mercer RD 6; Otto Burk, Parkers Landing; James Burk, Emlenton. Services will be held in the Cunningham Funeral Home, Leesburg, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clarence Snyder in charge. Interment will be in St. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today and tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m.
