Wife of Burley Salisbury/Saulsbury, daughter of John Daniel and Minnie Frances (Bryant) Kigar. Mrs. Burley Saulisbury of Rutledge, who lived for many years near Greensburg and Fabius, died suddenly and unexpectedly about 5 o'clock Saturday morning, April 11, 1953, at her home. She was preparing breakfast at the time and fell over dead. She would have been 64 years old May 5.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Christian Church in Greensburg. Burial was in the Greensburg cemetery.

Surviving are the husband, who is bedfast after a stroke and was unable to attend the funeral, and the two children born to them, Ross Salisbury and Josie, Mrs. Leo Stone, both of near Rutledge. There survive also a number of grandchildren and four brothers and a sister, who are: Oscar Kigar of Edina, Joseph Kigar of Iowa, Lewis Kigar of Memphis and Raymond Kigar and Maude, Mrs. Joseph Burrus, of Baring.

Mrs. Saulisbury was Miss Alice Minnie Kigar before her marriage. She was one of the eleven children of the late John and Minnie Frances Bryant Kigar, and she was born in 1889 at Bible Grove in Scotland County. Her youth and early married life were passed in that vicinity.

The parents and five brothers, Johnnie, Fred, Lavon, Otto and Earl Kigar, preceded Mrs. Saulisbury in death. The last brother, Earl Kigar, died Jan. 23, 1952.
