"Mrs. Katie Bickel, life resident of Princeton, Ia., died suddenly at 8:30 a.m. Friday at her home. She was born in Princeton Aug. 20, 1888, daughter of John and Hattie Stichter, and attended Princeton schools. On Jan. 1, 1906, she was married in Davenport to Floyd E. Bickel. They farmed near Princeton for several years and then moved to Princeton.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Louis F. Bickel of New Auburn, Wis., and Cecil C. Bickel of Milan, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Kuehl of Bettendorf and Mrs. Hattie Booker of Rapid City, Ill.; four brothers, Edward Stichter, Andy Stichter and Henry Stichter, all of LeClaire, and Louis Stichter of Princeton; one half-brother, Martin Stichter of McCausland, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Mae Schaffer of Princeton; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the McGinnis funeral home in Bettendorf." Quad-City Times (Davenport, Iowa), November 15, 1946
