Mae L. (Blackwell) Braddock, 83, died Saturday,September 16th in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Lester Braddock.

Born in Whitman, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Gertrude (Sears) Blackwell.

She was brought up in East Bridgewater and was a graduate of East Bridgewater High in 1941.

Mae returned to Whitman where she resided for 37 years and worked in the cafeteria of the Whitman School system for 18 years before her retirement, she lived Abington for the last 28 years.

She was known in and out of school for her homemade cookies.

She is survived by her children, John "Barry" Braddock of Maine, Lester "Ricky" Braddock of Vermont, Donna Brunelle of Charlton and Karen Authier of Whitman, her brother Richard Blackwell of Arizona and her sisters Grace Robertson of Whitman and Mildred Newton of Arizona. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Her service will be held Thursday September 21st at 11: 00 A.M., in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel; Plymouth Street (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours Wednesday September 20th 5-8.
