REDWOOD — The funeral for William Howard (Strawberry)
Campbell, 88, of Redwood, who died Friday, March 27, was con- ducted Monday, March 30 at Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount by the Revs. J. Earl Harrelson and Charles Comer. Burial was in Mountain View Memorial Park.
He was retired from The Lane Co. Inc. and was a member of
Woodlawn Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe and Mary Chitwood Campbell; son, Walter Clifton Campbell; infant
daughter, Geraldine Anne Campbell; four brothers, Ted, Sam, Maynard and Carlton Campbell; two sisters, Annie May Davis, Doris Thurman; and an infant granddaughter, Joanna Michelle Hodges.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Queenell Wray Campbell; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Fern Campbell of Glade Hill, Earl Campbell, Ronnie and Pamela Campbell of Redwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma
Jean and Harold Morris, Georgia and Fred Hodges, Sue and Winford Hodges, all of Rocky Mount; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Nannie Campbell of Redwood, Curtis and Shirley Campbell of Rocky Mount; and sisters-in-law, Naomi Campbell of Collinsville, Nannie Kate Campbell, Viola Campbell, Katherine Campbell, all of Redwood.
The family suggests memorials be made to Glade Hill Rescue Squad, Rt. 1, Box 82, Glade Hill, Va. 24092 or Franklin County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Flora Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
