Earl was an active and longtime member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop #362 in Redwood and Troop #2 in Roanoke for over 40 years. He loved fishing, camping, bluegrass and gospel music. In addition, he loved his yearly trips to Galax while attending the bluegrass festivals. Earl was preceded in death by his father and mother, Howard and Queenell Campbell, two sisters, Geraldine Anne Campbell and Georgia Carol Hodges and one brother, Walter "Boat" Campbell. Surviving are two brothers, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
