Mary married Frank Alameida and from this union a daughter Mary L. Alameida was born in 1877. Mary is listed in the 1900 census with her second husband's last name(John Lewis) of 20 years, he is not on the census. It looks like an M for married but could be a w for widow.

Mary is the mother of Mary L. Alameida, from her first marriage. Mary's children from her second husband: Willie, Maggie, Charles, Albert, and Arthur Lewis

approx. 1880 she married John Lewis, in the 1900 census it states she has been married 20 years and she is listed as the Head of the house. The census is hard to read, but I do not see John listed in the census in the family, its hard to tell whether Mary is married or Widowed. She and both her parents are from Portugal and she is a cannery worker.
