The latter part of her life was spent in the Salt Lake area. Funeral services were held at Russon Brothers Mortuary chapel in Salt Lake City, Friday, Dec. 23. A short memorial service was held at Olpin Mortuary in Roosevelt prior to interment in the Roosevelt Memorial Park Friday. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Alta) Gilbert Hill of Bountiful.

Martha was a nurse of the best kind. She built a home next to the hospital so she could be nearby at all times. In addition to being the head nurse at the Roosevelt Hospital, she was also the Duchesne County school nurse for several years.
Prior to her mother's death at age 80, Martha cared for her mother for several years in her home. After the death of Martha's sister, Melna (during her 7th pregnancy), Martha helped raised Melna's children. Martha was a very kind, loving and practical person.
Joe and Martha were also adoptive parents to Gerald Burns, Martha's cousin's son. They raised him from age 4 until his death. They (Martha, Joe and Gerald) resided at Roosevelt, Utah and Utahn, Duchesne County, Utah.
