FUNERAL SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR MRS. HORROCKS.

Funeral services were held Monday in the Arcadia ward chapel for Mrs. Melna Beatrice Gilbert Horrocks, 34, and her infant son. The mother died Saturday, following the birth of her son.

Russell Todd of the Roosevelt Stake, E.L. Murphy of the Moon Lake Stake and Marvin G. Shields and Hale Holgate of the ward bishopric offered words of consolation to the bereaved family and told of Mrs.Horrocks' faithful services as a nurse at Arcadia and vicinity, the Relief Society had sponsored a two-year nursing course at the L.D.S. Hospital for her.

Prayers were offered by E.B. Murphy and Thomas Todd. Musical numbers were given by a double quartet which included Rodger Horrocks, Marion Ross, Lynn Ross and Floyd Ross, Dena Richens, Ilenna Shields, Celia Cope and Leah Richens; a duet by Lynn and Floyd Ross and a solo by Marvin Todd.

Interment was in the Roosevelt Cemetery with Rodger Horrocks dedicating the grave.

Mrs. Horrocks was born September 30, 1903 at Ammon, Idaho. When a very small child, she moved to Joseph, Utah and lived there until 1914 when she moved to Arcadia with her mother, Mrs. Eliza Jane Gilbert, She attended school at Arcadia and Roosevelt. She was married in Vernal, Utah July 7,1924.

Surviving are her husband Franklin Ray Horrocks, four sons, Gilbert Ray, William Franklin, Carman Gene, Douglas Richard; one daughter Martha Lou; her mother and three brothers, Thomas Martindale, and Ozza Leandrew Gilbert all of Arcadia; John Alma Gilbert of Tooele; and three sisters, Mittie Moore of Salt Lake City, Martha G Shanks, Utahn, and Mrs. Alta Hill of Bountiful.
