He was born in Scott County to the late Harley Madison and the late Jennette "Jennie" Gertrude (Small) Richey. He married Esther M. Hopwood on Oct. 5, 1935. She survives.
In addition to farming for 75 years, Dallas worked at the gunpowder plant in Charlestown, the Crosley Motor Plant, and for 30 years, the Anaconda Wire and Cable Plant.
Survivors include his wife, Esther M. Richey, Marion; sons, Ernest (Virginia) Richey, Morris (Linda) Richey, Sidney (Betty) Richey, all of Marion, and Leland (Alice) Richey, Swayzee, Ben (Marcia) Richey, Carmel; sister, Ruth Henry, Vienna; brother, Roy (Jeannie) Richey, Marion; grandchildren, Vicki (David) Gilbert, Ronda (Brian) Middlesworth, Robin (Larry) Rogers, Cindy (Greg) Roach, Crystal (Michael) Maynard, Mary (Mike) Valle, Jim (Jennifer) Richey, Melissa (Troy) Yeakle, Paula (Aaron) McMillan, Julie (Nic) Cain, and Amy Richey; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 siblings; grandsons, Ryan Richey, Wesley Richey, Christopher Richey.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with Revs. Jim Miller and John Key officiating.
