On the 22nd day of June, 1887, he was united in marriage with Miss Paulina Fausch, the now sorrowing widow. This union was a happy and blessed one. Nine children were born to them, three of whom preceded the father in the beyond.
Brother Fenner was converted to God and joined the Coloma Evangelical church in the year 1903 under the labors of Rev. F. Reichert. He manifested a keen interest in the church. Thus also the church honored him with various offices. Always he served with faithfulness and activity. He was a wise counsellor and of more progressive spirit than many others.
In the family circle he was respected and loved. As a kind father and tender husband he well cared and provided for his own.
In the community he was well known and gathered about himself a wide acquaintance and a large circle of friends through his friendly spirit and works of helpfulness and kindness.
Brother Fenner departs from us as a respected citizen, and honored church member, a faithful husband, and a kind and loving father. He will be missed in the family circle. We will miss him in the church and in the community.
He leaves a deeply sorrowing widow, three sons, Victor, Harvey, and Arden; three daughters, Luella, now Mrs. George Meinke; Elsie, Mrs. Ferdinand King; and Adena of Chicago; one brother, two half brothers, and one half sister, five grandchildren and many friends. The Lord God will sustain them and comfort them and grant a meeting again in Heaven.
Funeral services were held from the home and from the Coloma Evangelical church on Wednesday afternoon with burial at the East cemetery in Westfield.
