Mrs. Cecil Burkett Died Sunday
Mrs. Madge Burkett,65,a native of Tattnall County, died Sunday at Emory Hospital in Atlanta after a short illness.
She lived in Cordele for the past 11 years. She was a member of the Cordele First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Cecil Burkett of Cordele; two sons, C.A. Bland of Savannah and Billy Bland of Fort Park; a mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Bacon of Glennville; three brothers, M.D. Bacon of Glennville, Joe Bacon of Warner Robbins, and Dan Bacon of Stone Mountain; three sisters, Mrs. John Moore of Woodbury, Mrs. Olin Beasley of Savannah and Mrs. Wendell Purvis of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Cordele at 11 am. Tuesday, with burial in Beard's Creek Cemetery near Glennville
Rimes Mortuary of Glennville was in charge.
