Esther "Tess" Buckley Morton, 84, of Syracuse, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011, at Iroquois Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 27, 1926 in Wilson Creek, Washington to Elver and Esther Buckley. She was one of eight children. Tess retired from the Syracuse City School District. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold "Hal" Morton, in 1995. Surviving are three sons, Alan (Jane) Morton, Kevin (Cathy) Morton, and Steven (Cindy) Morton; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; a brother, Elver "Sonny" Buckley; two sisters, Evelyn Ferguson, Emily Olsen; a special friend, Harold Hayden; many nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 2200 Valley Dr. Interment: Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church.
