Alfredo Bocanegra, 72, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnaldo Gonzalez officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Bocanegra was born July 11, 1938, the son of Alfredo Bocanegra and Amelia Valdez Bocanegra. He worked for Clinton Nursery for over 16 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Aviña Bocanegra of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, José Alfredo Bocanegra and his wife, Norma Padrón, of Attapulgus, GA and Jesús Bocanegra and his wife, Yashira, of Bainbridge, GA; his brothers, Martín Bocanegra, Feliciano Bocanegra, Zacarías Bocanegra, David Bocanegra, Monserrato Bocanegra, and Eulogio Bocanegra; his sisters, Guadalupe Bocanegra, Juana Bocanegra, Marta Bocanegra, Angelica Bocanegra, and Librada Bocanegra; and his four grandchildren, Julie Bocanegra, Juán Padrón, José Alfredo Bocanegra, and Santiago Bocanegra.
