Obituary, Durant Daily Democrat, September 9, 1999 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Durant for Cecil Plyler, 66, Durant, who died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, in Durant. The Reverend Darel Bunch will officiate. The son of Arthur Dewitt Plyler and Stella Mae Gray Plyler, he was born on Friday, February 10, 1933, in Durant. Mr. Plyler was a printer and owner of Plyler's Printing. He was publisher and owner of the Bryan County Star since 1981.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Kiwanis Club, Durant Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and a board member of the Bryan County Economic Development Authority. Mr. Plyler enjoyed camping, fishing with the grandchildren, attending the grandchildrens' sport activities, baseball, square dancing. He was a 1952 graduate of Durant High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. He married Linda Harp on January. 30, 1976, in Durant.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Huey Plyler. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home. Family hour is from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, Phase I Building Repair Fund, Durant.
