VARNA: Margaret I. Lenz, 94, of 401 E. Ninth Street, Lacon, formerly of Varna, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2000, at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
Born February 14, 1906, in Roberts Township, Marshall County, IL, to Gustav and Hedwig Ollman Junker, she married Ernest Lenz on December 22, 1925, in Peoria. He died August 11, 1990.
One son, William; one brother; and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Robert of New Albany, IN; one daughter, Lois (and Dr. Donald) Bauer of Park Forest; two brothers, Harold Junker of Colorado Springs, CO, and Gerhardt Junker of Wenona; one sister, Agnes (and Gary) Lenz of Lacon; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Varna, where she taught Sunday School for 50 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight and one hour before services. The Rev. Peter Glock will officiate. Burial will be in Lacon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church, St. Joseph Nursing Home or any charity.
