Cora Virginia Kennedy

Cora Virginia Kennedy, age 82 year old retired school teacher, died Tuesday, March 9, in a Hillsboro hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on thursday, March 11 at First Baptist Church in Whitney with the Reverends Herb Thompson and W.L. Walker officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennedy was born December 1, 1910 in Hext, Texas the daughter of D.H. and V.Z. (Norton) Kennedy. She spent most of her life in West Texas and New Mexico. She married Dwight Kennedy on June 18, 1938 and taught to the Public School System for 36 years before retiring in 1972. She had lived in Whitney since 1973 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitney since that time.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her husband; Dwight Kennedy of Whitney, two sons, Gerald Dwight Kennedy of Crowley and Jan Dwight Kennedy of Allen; one brother, Bill Palmer of San Angelo.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Whitney.
