Marguerite C. Scripkunas MacMorran, on April 22, 2010, closed her eyes on this Earth and opened them in Heaven. She was born in Exeter, May 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Albert and Cecilia Covert Martini. She attended St. Cecilia's School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston. She was a waitress for many years, having worked at O'Brien's, Wyoming; Klocko's, Exeter, and Agolino's Restaurant, West Pittston, and also worked for a time at Crest Cleaners. Marguerite was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was the founder of the First Ward Playground Association, Exeter. Marguerite was preceded in death by husbands, Gus Scripkunas and Clifford MacMorran; granddaughter; Catherine Scripkunas Zych; great-grandson, Robert Scripkunas; brothers, Paul and Richard Martini; and sisters, Jean DeRoberto, Doris Martini and Elizabeth Agolino. She is survived by son, John (Jack) Scripkunas, with whom she resided; daughters, Judith and her husband, Stephen Sokach Sr., West Pittston; Marguerite (Puggsie) Dixon, West Pittston, and Marie Orlando Wills, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday morning in Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston. The Rev. Michael Piccola will officiate. Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations, if desired, may be sent to Hospice Care of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18704. Arrangements are by the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston.
