Alfred F. Bologna, 88, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Northern Dutchess Hospital. Formerly of Oceanside, NY, he has resided in Rhinebeck for three years with his wife Louise.

Mr. Bologna served in the US Army during WW II and was a postman in New York City and Freeport, Long Island. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and the New York Yankees.

He was a communicant of the Good Shepherd Church, Rhinebeck.

Born February 7, 1923 in the Bronx, he was the son of Dominick and Margaret (Gasparino) Bologna.

On September 11, 1949, he married Louis D. D'Agostino.

In addition to his wife of Rhinebeck, he is survived by three daughters Lorraine Lunarola, Susan Hicks, Margaret Principato and her husband John; and four grandchildren, Jenna, Nicholas and Lauren Principato and Sabrina Hicks.

Calling Hours are Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 11 AM, at the Good Shepherd Church, 3 Mulberry St., Rhinebeck. Interment will be private in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., Jefferson Plaza, Poughkeepsie, NY.
