Louise Bologna, 88, passed away on February 8 after a long struggle with a heart condition. Born in NYC to Emil and Mary D'Agostino, she was one of five siblings and is survived by her sisters, Elvira Coy, and Margaret D'Esposito. She was predeceased by her sister, Elena Massaro, and brother, Ralph D'Agostino.

Her best friend since grade school, Felicia Risolo, laughs when she recalls all the fun times they had. Louise married Alfred Bologna, on September 11, 1949 and moved to Long Island where they spent most of their marriage before moving to Rhinebeck, NY. Alfred and Louise loved traveling to Las Vegas where they enjoyed playing poker and the slots. They moved to Rhinebeck 10 years ago. Alfred sadly passed away in 2011.

They are survived by their three daughters, Lorraine Lunarola of Melbourne, Florida, Susan Hicks of Rhinebeck, NY and Margaret Principato of North Massapequa, NY. They are also survived by four grandchildren, Jenna, Nick and Lauren Principato , and Sabrina Hicks as well as son-in-law, John Principato.

Louise is most remembered for her loving ways with family and friends, cooking and baking Italian cuisine and dancing to Big Band music.


A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 18, 2015, 10 AM, at the Good Shepherd Church, East Market St., Rhinebeck. Interment in Rhinebeck Cemetery will follow and the family will receive friends and relatives at The Woods Clubhouse.
