Mystery surrounds the death of Chas. W. Raitt, who was buried here last week. He was employed by the Brick and Tile Co. at Mason City, but lived alone. Neighbors saw smoke coming from his house and investigated, found his body on a burning mattress, where he had presumably been smother by smoke. He was a native of this township, 65 years old.
Mrs. Will Spars of Waterloo and John Raitt of Brandon were overnight guests last week Wednesday of Arthur Adney and family. They were called here to attend the funeral of their father, Chas. Raitt, whioh was held at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon.
