Lester Junior Amstutz, age 76, of 60 Mansfield Avenue, Shelby, died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.

He was born December 13, 1928 in Tiro, Ohio the son of the late Margaret (Swartz) and Lester Amstutz, Sr. Lester was a member of the United States Navy serving in the Korean Conflict from 1948-1952. He was the foreman of packing and receiving at Shelby Standard Company for 43 years and then worked for 6 years at Moritz Materials in Shelby. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, American Legion O'Brien Post #326, where he was a life member, past commander and district officer, Fraternal Order of Eagles #763, Life member of VFW George Broderick Post #291, and Owls Club #2553, all in Shelby. For many years, he coached Little League baseball. Lester enjoyed fishing and woodworking having made a variety of wood crafted pieces for his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
