David Stewart was born in St George, New Brunswick, March 16, 1841. There he learned the blacksmith's trade and remained there until 1864, when he removed to St Francis, Anoka Co, and the following year purchased 160 acres in section 5, town of Oak Grove, where he still lives. He has been a director of the school board several terms. He was married August 27, 1865, to Eliza Seelye. Children: John C, Leon L, Evalyn, William D (Eugene, Oregon), La Sells D (Murphy, Oregon), Eben C (died Nov 6, 1897).
