L. B. "Pappy" Dodd

L. B. "Pappy" Dodd, Terrell resident, died at his home near here late Friday. Funeral services will be held from the Anderson - Clayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. E. F. Hardy and Rev. Olen D. Brockway officiating. Interment will be in the Lawrence Cemetery.
L. B. Dodd a son of the late King F. Dodd and Mary Elizabeth Standley was born in Van Zandt County, Texas on March 16, 1903. He moved to east Texas as a young man and later to the Rose Hill community and to Lawrence. He went from there to west Texas and then to Brawley, California where he lived for 35 years. He returned to Kaufman County, in 1959 and has lived in the Cobb community since that time. He was a truck farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jackie France of Desoto; two sons, L. B. Dodd Jr. of Wynnewood, Okla., and George Dewey Dodd, of Huntsville, Tex.; four grandchildren; five brothers, Robert Dodd and Joe Dodd of Terrell, Ed Dodd of Kaufman, George Dodd of Pixley,Calif, and Odell Dodd of Azusa, Calif.; four sisters, Etna Drost, Lillie Allen Geneva Estes all of Terrell, and Odessa Tapp of Garland, and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
