Funeral services for King George Dodd will be held from the graveside at the Pixley Cemetery in Pixley, California, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 1998, with the Rev. Duane Travis officiating. Mr. Dodd passed away August 28, 1998, in a Terrell nursing home.
Born in Polk County, Texas, on October 12, 1907, Mr. Dodd was the son of the late King Franklin Dodd and Mary Elizabeth Stanley Dodd, and had lived in California many years prior to moving to Terrell. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Throneberry Dodd, in 1993, and is survived by three brothers, Ed Dodd, Kaufman; Joe Mack Dodd, Terrell; Russell Odell Dodd, Azusa, California; four sisters, Etna Dorst; Genevea Estes; Lillie Allen, all of Terrell; and Odessa Travis, Lone Oak; and other relatives and friends.
Local arrangements and visitation for Mr. Dodd were under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home of Terrell.
