Harry Cresswell, Here Since 1920, Dies January 23
Harry E. Cresswell, 91, of 14 Utica St, a dairy farmer for more that 50 years on Dugway Rd, died January 23 in a Utica hospital. He was born in Boggstown, IN. He attended Clarks HIll School and was the director of the Clarks Hill village board for several years. He came to the Clinton area in 1920. He married Charlotte Shaffer in 1901. She died in 1934. Mr. Cresswell retired from farming in 1944. Since then, he had lived with his daughter Mrs. Leo (Rosalie) Holstein, at 14 Utica St. Mr. Cresswell was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church and the Modern Woodsmen of America. He was a representative for the Farm and Loan Association of Oneida County. Besides his daughter, he leaves 3 sons, Charles A. Cresswell, Franklin Springs; Edward Roland Cresswell, Amityville, Long Island; and Richard Cresswell, Vernon (son Roger William Cresswell, Sr. predeceased him in 1967). The funeral was held Monday from Owens Funeral Home
