Mrs. Brown and her husband, Monroe, a retired letter carrier, operated a grocery store on West 11th Street and later an ice cream parlor on East Memorial Drive. She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church and the Laides Auxiliary of Letter Carriers. Mrs. Brown and her husband observed their 50th wedding anniversary last week.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Curry, Muncie; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Herdt, Jeffersonville; one sister, Mrs. Vera Williams, Montpelier; one brother, George Curry, Muncie; three grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Meeks Mortuary wtih Rev. William D. Meddock, pastor of Gethsemane United Methodist Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
