FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR
CHARLES BURDICK
Funeral services for Charles Burdick who was killed in a highway accident July 23, 1946 near his home, were conducted by Bishop Francis Todd Friday at 2:00pm in the Duchesne LDS chapel as follows:
Invocation, Levi J. Anderton; vocal solo. "O My Father", S.Voy Fairbanks; speakers, Porter Merrell, Clarence Ivie; vocal duet, "In the Garden", Porter Merrell, Fern Moffat; speakers Harold Eldredge, Bishop Todd; vocal solo, "Going Home", S.Voy Fairbanks; benediction, Reese Clayburn.
Burial was in the Duchesne City Cemetery under the direction of the Dillman Funeral Home with Wilson J. Merkley dedicating the grave. Phillip Merkley, Wayne Casper, Billy Odekirk, Weston Despain, Wallace Fause and Lloyd Belt acted as pallbearers.
Military honors were conducted by the American Legion Post 22 of Duchesne, Utah.
Mr. Burdick was born July 7, 1895 at Spring City, Utah a son of Lutellus and Esther Caroline Zabriskie Burdick. He married Mary Maxine Wimmer in Preston, Idaho May 14, 1929.
Surviving Mr. Burdick are his widow and six sons and daughters: Barbara, Howard, John, Gerald, Carolyne and Shirlie, all of Duchesne; his mother and a brother Lyman of Bluebell, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Bailey of Ferron, Utah, Mrs. Delia Nielsen, Delores, Colorado and Mrs. Helen D. Mott of Duchesne.
