Lloyd E. Welborn, 67 of Spruce Pine, died December 24, 2000. Mr. Welborn was a native of Franklin County.
Mr. Welborn was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pelum Welborn; brothers, Pelum Thornton Welborn, Jr., Clifton Walter Welborn, and Hubert Howard Welborn; and a sister, Lillian Welborn.
Funeral services were at Pinkard Funeral Chapel with burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
Mr. Welborn is survived by wife, Shirley Crisman Welborn of Florence; sons, Dr. David N. Welborn and wife, Gloria, of Alexander City; and Phillip K. Welborn of Spruce Pine; a daughter, Gail Ann Welborn of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; brothers, Edward Thornton Welborn and Athel Charles Welborn, both of Spruce Pine; sisters, Iris Vickie Welborn Roberts of Phil Campbell and Mattie Inez Welborn Pounders of Spruce Pine; grandchildren, David B. Welborn, Daniel M. Welborn and Dustin A. Welborn; an aunt, Macy Welborn Duke of Florence.
