A.C. "Fiddler" Welborn, 65, Tuscumbia, Ala., died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Florence. He was a native of Franklin County but lived in Tuscumbia for the past two years. He was a member of the Baptist church and was a self-employed truck driver.

The funeral will be Sunday, May 30, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel, Russellville, with burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell. Officiating at the service will be Oscar Hutcheson. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Marie Welborn, Tuscumbia, Ala.; sons, Harold Glen Welborn, Billy Welborn and wife, Annette, Wayne Welborn and wife, Dianne, all of Spruce Pine, Ala.; daughters, Brenda Fretwell and husband, Gary, Dianne Ozbirn and husband, Larry, Jona Welborn Quillen, all of Spruce Pine, Ala.; stepson, Joseph Kevin Presley, Russellville, Ala.; brother, Ed Welborn, Phil Campbell, Ala.; sisters, Inez Pounders, Spruce Pine, Ala., I.V. "Iris" Roberts and husband, Bill, Phil Campbell, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pelum T. Welborn.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
